Beauty Diary: August 2013 Favorites

Last month involved testing various products which resulted to my having only three items in constant rotation.

The first one was Mary Kay Translucent Loose Powder which I reviewed at the beginning of August. I will repeat myself in saying that this did a wonderful job in keeping oil at bay without making my skin look dry or cakey. Instead, the result is a radiant, soft-focus finish.

I put a lot on emphasis in making my brows look clean, defined but soft and my Shu Uemura Hard Formula brow pencil was the perfect product for the job. The shade I use is Seal Brown in Hard 6.

The final product in my August Favorites is a Lunasol eyeshadow palette is EX01 Shiny Gold Brown. It was part of a Holiday 2012 Coffret that I purchased but never got to review.

On the pan it looks like a glitter bomb but once applied with a brush, it has a subtle shimmer that does not take away from the palette's neutral nature.  I used my fingers to swatch the colors in the photo below in order to show how all the colors look in comparison. Keep in mind that this needs to be applied with a brush and looks much more soft and sheer that way. This also ensures a foolproof gradation of color.

Everything else... lip products, eye liners, etc. changed almost everyday. Even with foundation, I tried various formula and brands although I'm still on the fence on how I feel about what I've used.
